fixer up

i updated a few things on here. like the sidebar and stuff.

now i have a schedule section. mostly so i can remember when when things are coming but so you can see some cool things coming up on the horizon.

also, i first made this blog to post just about film related stuff but i'm gonna post like whatever stuff (not that i don't now) on here, and yes ill keep it drama free... not that i have any in the first place. a more music/whatever blog.

anyways, i wish it was spring. im sick of winter for once in my life, as in i want to be be able to go for a walk or whatever and not have to wear a coat, just a hoodie.

the bedlam in goliath

as the title says, this will be a album review...

the bedlam in goliath by the mars volta

i'm not going to lie, i had my doubts with the volta after hearing amputechture thinking they finally had gone off the deep end and were never coming back.

boy was i wrong

goliath picks up in my mind where francis the mute left off, high energetic, fast frantic songs. from the opener on this one you know you wont be bored while listening to it, and all songs are under 10 mins (not to say 9 mins is not long...) but it seems the volta is back to making music not making silence. the thing that i like the most about goliath is the punk influence seems to be back. and omars guitar work is just amazing, he solos all over the album and it dont get stale at all. the only con to the album is the songs seem to be alike in sound. its not a bad thing but it feels like the days of each song being sonically different (deloused anyone) are over. still a very solid release. with something amputechutre dont have to me, replay value.

i can say the mars volta is finally back. 4/5. the dvd that came with the record is good as well. awesome live show! i must see them!

winter/spring outlook

feb 24 -brand new (albany)
march 7 -MSTRKRFT (brooklyn)
march 29 -say anything (nyc)
april 12 -hot chip (nyc)
may 3 -saturday of bamboozle to see: set your goals, movielife, saves the day, gym class heroes, streelight manifesto (new jersey)

basically this is what i want to see and im sure this will get to be a much longer list.

i deff want to see hot chip in nyc, and being its so close to my birthday it will be even more fun. say anything is iffy along with the 'krft. although i really want to see them...
bamboozle is going to be hit or miss too. only time ill be able to see saves the day this spring and he movielife thing is enough to make me want to go.....

we'll see!

oh ive seen it all, winter, summer, fall...

other than being the king kong of france, oh excuse me the 'cloverfield' of france (that movie looks really lame) ive been kinda doing a lot of nothing relevant to film. i dont even know how to capture yet onto the macbook.

still the first 15 days of this year felt like the flew by but at the same time went really slow. i dont even know where to begin...

still 2008 is going to be a huge year for me and i know it. i should not worry about all the small things, i just should focus on the bigger picture...

this not going anywhere, im going to stop here.

first post of 2008

so its 2008...

a new year that promises hope, success, growth, so on etc

i dont know if film wise ill get a lot done in 2008 but this is the year i swear to god ill further myself in the field, as in get into a good college.

i cant wait to see where this year is going to take me.
