i'm this weekend shooting a video for sam (tone pony) to his new jam 'brighter'

this is the first music video i've done in like 10 months when i did 'asleep at the trigger', i feel like the pressure is on for me to make something good. hopefully this will come out the way i got it envisioned in my head.

anyways, i finally heard the new cobra starship album... umm what happened? the first 4 songs are legit then it kinda turns into a band hip-hop wannabe 80s pop album. ok ok i know cobra is a joke but the first album didn't suck at all. although viva does have gabes usual slick lyrics so thats a plus but musically it sucks. i think this has alot to do with gabe now having a band and not him playing everything like last time... its good but its not great and when gabe is writing the songs you can only expect album of the year stuff (fwyk anyone?!), and he didn't do it here. viva la cobra is 3/5, and i'm being nice with that. i'm interested in seeing how they even plan to play these songs live, maybe a good live show will sway how i feel about viva la cobra.

however, i am looking forward to jaguar love's debut, if you know its johnny whitney from the blood brothers' new band. its so good, kinda like a mix of neon blonde and the bb's last album "young machetes"

so i guess i am doing some music reviews again. i suppose ill do stuff worth mentioning.

velvet teen next weekend in nyc! get excited!

2007 album of the year nomination

i don't write about music much anymore but...

"under the boards" by saves the day is the best album of 2007

holy shit is all i can say. i have not liked an album this much on a first listen since midtown's 2004 misunderstood 2004 masterpiece "forget what you know".

i'm not jumping to a quick conclusion either, this is the real deal.

for the first time ever (i gave fwyk 4.5/5) this is 5/5 in my book.

also, the mars volta are back the 3 new songs are amazing. im excited to hear more of this

cky breaking up? there is A LOT of drama there. we'll see... its like seeing your best childhood friend in a hospital bed dieing and there is nothing you can do. i got a sick feeling when i read the news.

foo fightin'

so foo fighters down last night, which might have been one of the best shows i've ever seen. which i know ive been saying that after like every show ive seen lately but they all have been that good.

so heres the fall line-up updated once again...

so no more weakerthans because the travel will exhaust me/make me even more broke.

no starting line and set your goals because the people i was going with are not now. which i'm fine with.

now word on the st. is cobra starship is playing with academy is ... on nov 4th at northern lights. i dont know if i can make that between velvet teen and personal things i got going on that day

but only time will tell whats goin' down!

as you can see i got ted this thrusday, foo fighters the tuesday after that and then saves the day 8 days after foo fighters.

then it gets hairy and he iffy shows come into play. set your goals is in utica at the college. i dont know if its even open to the public/the people im going with are still going

the weakerthans is in boston and the velvet teen show is in nyc. its looking like i'd go to boston on a thursday, come home on a friday, then the next day a saturday go to nyc to see the velvet teen...

the problem is money. school wise and work wise i'm fine. still i dont know if its physically possible for me to do the boston nyc thing. but hey you never know.

ill keep you updated.

and i not alot of film stuff. i'm way too busy to do anything, my camera now has a nice layer of dust covering it. oh well

college update: i plan to send out applications this week/early next week, then wait it out. wish me luck.
